MESSAGE FROM THE DIRECTOR Drawing on community is what we do. We lean on and learn from each other. We celebrate, cry with and get messy together. We are a studio of makers, innovators, creative problem solvers and friends. We work in community with each other in shared spaces, each on our own paths but with a mission to lift each other up and create something that is uniquely our voice. The past few years we have circled our silos, stretched stiff social muscles and retreated again when necessary. We have all been in need of relearning and of soulful connections with new people and ideas as well as the comforts of old friends and familiar places. The studio is a microcosm of our greater community, and here we practice how to be together as well as how to be resilient and strong independently. We hold space for ourselves and each other. May we all find our safe haven, our community of like minded people. Meet the artists and their work this Friday at the 6x6 exhibit, hosted by our friends at Bellelflower Brewing just down the Portland trail. After which we welcome you into our open studios, our sacred spaces, our workplaces, our creative home on Saturday and Sunday. We only do this twice a year, so bring your curiosity and your friends! We feel so fortunate to call the Portland community ‘home’. We hope you will explore the other creatives and craft brewers here and across the state during Maine Craft Weekend.
